The Federal Government has hinted on plans to convert the Digital Bridge Institute into the first ICT University in Nigeria. The hint was given after his tour of their facilities by the present Minister of Communications, Mr. Adebayo Shittu.
“The centre will be converted to ICT University where people will be trained in the Information Communication Technology development. ICT goes beyond Computer as a course. There is an hidden treasure in the DBI which government is not exploiting. The state of ICT facilities in the centre is strong.”
He also added that the establishment of the University has become imperative after evaluating the level of infrastructure and facilities at the Digital Bridge Institute, DBI, located in Oshodi, Lagos.
The project, if eventually sees the light of the day would be a landmark in the West African Nation as it would aid the development of digital technology in the country. The country already recorded successes in the organization of the entrance examination into the University.
