A student of the University of Lagos who graduated with a 5.0 CGPA has been rewarded with N500, 000.
Vice Chancellor of the university, Professor Rahamon Bello, said the student, Daniel Dada, Ayodele was the star of their 2014/2015 convocation ceremony.
According to Punch, the VC along with 2 other top academics,Prof Jerry Gana and Dr. Sunny Kuku, showered the Ekiti-born graduate with praises.
Dr. Sunny Kuku has pledged to give Ayodele N500, 000 while singing his praises.
Fellow students of the school have been hailing the young man and calling him a genius, to which Ayodele replied;
“I do not have to be a genius to get the results of a genius. I believe everyone can achieve whatever they want to achieve in life. The best way to serve God is through excellence in whatever we do.
He also added that, “However, we cannot all be doctors, engineers, pharmacists, among others. So to my colleagues, I urge them to remain steadfast in their various undertakings in life.“
Dada also received other prizes at the convocation ceremony which include the VC’s prize, Dean’s prize, UNILAG Parent Forum prize, Tony Elumelu Legacy prize, the UNILAG Alumni Association prize, the late Eni Njoku Academic prize, Prof Tolu Odugbemu prize, and the late Prof. Adetokunbo Sofoluwe prize.
