For those interested in International Engineering Scholarships. ASHRAE is pleased to announce the 2016/17 edition of its annual engineering scholarship program. This program was established to reduce financial burdens of engineering students at university level.
ASHRAE, founded in 1894, is a global society advancing human well-being through sustainable technology for the built environment. The Society and its members focus on building systems, energy efficiency, indoor air quality, refrigeration and sustainability within the industry. Through research, standards writing, publishing and continuing education, ASHRAE shapes tomorrow’s built environment today. ASHRAE was formed as the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers by the merger in 1959 of American Society of Heating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHAE) founded in 1894 and The American Society of Refrigerating Engineers (ASRE) founded in 1904.
The annual engineering scholarship program is in its 27th year and has awarded more than $1.5 million to over 300 applicants.
The 2016/17 edition of the annual engineering scholarship program requires applicants to meet the following criteria
- A cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 on a scale of 4.0
- Provide a letter of recommendation & evaluation form from three individuals including a faculty
- adviser or professor, a current or past employer, and any other character reference
- Statement clearly showing financial need
