This scholarship covers not only the full tuition, but also includes housing in Ashesi’s residence halls, meals on campus, a free laptop, spending money and annual trips home for international students after the second year.
As long as you and your family can continue to demonstrate financial need, you can expect that your scholarship award will be renewed annually.
The Scholarship Committee meets annually to assess the financial status of each scholar’s family. You may be asked to submit updated bank statements, pay slips and other supporting documents to verify your family’s financial standing.
Please note that half of the scholarships funded by The MasterCard Foundation will be awarded to non-Ghanaians.
There is no limit to the number of students who can apply. In 2014, international students made up 10% of the student population. So, Ashesi began an aggressive international recruitment initiative to increase the number of non-Ghanaians attending the university to between 30%-50% by 2020.
The application deadline dates for Early Admissions is 31st March 2016 AND for the Regular Admissions is 30th June 2016. The Late Admissions application deadline is 25th August, 2016. International and scholarship applications must be submitted no later than the regular admissions deadline.
The admissions office will give you a date you can expect to hear back from Ashesi, based on the date you applied. You will receive both your admission and scholarship decision at the same time.
To apply for a course of study at Ashesi University, you must download the course Application Instructions AND also the university Application Form. Read the Instructions carefully and apply to the school.
Typically, scholarships are awarded to students from low income and middle income families. Any family that cannot afford the full fees should complete a financial aid application form and turn it in with their admissions application.
The Scholarship Committee will determine the amount of your award on the basis of demonstrated need and the strength of your application.
Admission into Ashesi is a highly selective process which is based in part on the evaluation of information submitted during the application process. For general information on entry requirements for both Ghanaian and International students, please click here.
The selection process begins by determining who should be given an offer of admission based on each applicant’s overall profile. Applicants are considered on the basis of documented financial need and upon a thorough assessment by the Ashesi Scholarship Committee of all information gathered during the admissions process for each candidate.
