21 Bagged First Class, as Baze University Graduates Students

21 students of the Baze University, Abuja has been awarded first class degrees in the 2015/2016 academic session.

The Vice Chancellor of the university, professor Tahir Mamman San announced this at the Third Convocation Ceremony of the university held at the campus convocation hall.

The institution graduated 255 students from three faculties-Computing and Applied Sciences, Law, Management and Social Sciences.

Speaking at the event, the executive secretary, National Universities Commission (NUC), Professor Abubakar Adamu Rasheed, congratulated both management and students on the successful convocation ceremony and charged them to make important use of their certificates.

“We are happy about the tremendous achievement recorded by this university since its inception. It’s NUC’S desire to create world class universities and Baze is certainly not far from it.”

Adamu further urged the university to continue to work with NUC in order to achieve the desired national  development.

Elder statesman and former Nigerian president, Olusegun Obasanjo also commended the academic drive of the university that has been in existence for only six years but with remarkable achievements. He urged the students to see themselves as ambassadors of the country and embrace good characters.

Obasanjo similarly congratulated the new executive secretary (NUC), Professor Adamu for his outstanding ability in enhancing efficient policies in the system and charged the students to ensure that they use education to make Nigeria a better place.

“Our fortunes and misfortunes lie in your hands. You must ensure that your education focus is on achieving credible leadership and economy of the nation,” Obasanjo said.

The occasion was also attended by the emir of Zazau,  Alhaji (DR) Shehu Idris and many other distinguished Nigerians.

The emir observed that Baze University has come to stay and to help the nation academically. “We look forward to seeing you when you come back here or elsewhere for your masters and doctorate degrees,” the emir stated.
