27 Bags First Class Degree As 422 Graduates from Redeemers’ University

Professor Debo Adeyewa, the Vice Chancellor of Redeemer’s University, Ede, Osun state has announced that of the 422 that will graduate at the 10th convocation of the university on September 13th, 27 were in the First Class cadre.

Adeyewa who stated this at a pre-convocation news conference in Ede added that 160 students made second class upper, while 178 students were graduated with second class lower division

Adding that 57 were in third class and pass categories, the VC explained that the graduands will be presented with diplomas, Masters Degrees and at Doctorate degrees respectively after satisfactorily both in academic and in character.

He disclosed the institution’s preparedness to confer on Timi of Edeland, Oba Munirudeen Adesola Lawal, the honorary award of the prestigious degree of Doctor of Management Science D.Mgt, Honoris Causa.

According to him, the award was in recognition of the monarch’s significant contributions to the development of Edeland, adding that Oba Lawal has distinguished himself.

Adeyewa emphasised the achievements of the institution in the area of research work, adding that the positive result had contributed to the human development in many ways.

He said the federal government through the Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization, have continuously called on the institutions ACEGID for the diagnosis and containment of Monkey Pox.

Adeyewa further stated that the ACEGID was at the forefront of efforts to contain the outbreak of Monkey Pox in 2017.

“We trained over 600 students and other experts from across the world including Bangladesh, Cameroon, Ghana, Liberia, Mali, Nigeria, Senegal and USA.”

“Dr. E.I Unuabonah won the award of Cambridge-Africa ALBORARDA Research Fund for reagents of laboratory equipment worth US$20,000; won the 2017 Nigeria Academy of Science (NAS) Gold Medal Prize for Nigeria Scientists,” he said.

He, however, announced that Redeemer’s University Radio, FM radio is 103.5, would be commissioned very soon, promising it would be outstanding in its transmission and managed by the Mass Communication Department of the institution.

Adeyewa reiterated the resolve of the Ivory Tower to deepen its research endeavours and ensure that its students are globally competitive.
